Richard Dana

Our illustrious CEO founded Tembo Money with one clear vision - to democratise access to homeownership and help the next generation overcome the growing mortgage affordability gap. Richard spent his early career in restructuring at EY, before founding, growing and exiting his first business - an online travel platform. Prior to Tembo, he was CFO at one of London's biggest accelerators.

Starting with family-supported mortgages, Richard has overseen Tembo's expansion to become the go-to mortgage broker for overcoming affordability issues, including innovative schemes like shared ownership, joint borrower sole proprietor mortgages and dynamic ownership.

What does home look like for you?

"Home used to be London; I bought my first flat in Islington. We moved in the pandemic, and now I can just about see the big smoke from my house on the outskirts of Guilford, where I live with my wife and two daughters. I spend too much of my time ferrying to and from the Isle of Wight, which is a second home of sorts I suppose."
